We (LJ and I) often find ourselves meditating on and discussing topics such as the nature of reality because, instinctively, we feel that this is intrinsically linked with unlocking and re-harnessing our true power as creators of reality.
What is reality?
We can’t answer that question with any degree of scientific certainty (we are not scientists) and neither can our modern day scientists, but our personal intuitive sense aligns with the view point put forward by the founding father of quantum theory, Max Planck and pioneering physicist Sir James Jean:
“I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness.” ~ Max Planck
“The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.” ~ Sir James Jean
What we feel and sense to be true, is that reality is a product of our collective subconscious; a projection of our collective, largely unchecked, feelings and thoughts into an interactive reality. We think of reality as a manifestation program, influenced entirely by our collective subconscious which is in turn informed by our conscious minds.
If that’s the case, why aren’t we all harnessing this power to create reality in a conscious way e.g. free of war, terrorism, hatred, division etc?
Perhaps it’s because we have fallen head long into our creation and:
- a) forgotten that we are the powerful creators behind this reality;
- b) forgotten how to harness this creative power in a conscious way; and
- c) are distracted by the constant bombardment of fear inducing news on a daily basis.
For us, the reality we are currently experiencing is evidence that collectively we need a lot of healing, because we believe that this reality is an outward projection of the pain we are feeling within our collective subconscious.
So, how can we reclaim our power as reality-creators?
Firstly and most importantly, we need to:
“Remember at all times that WE ARE REALITY-CREATORS.”
After all we cannot utilise power effectively if we aren’t aware that we possess it. The more of us that wake up from the amnesia we have succumbed to and remember the power we each wield every day of our lives, the more likely we are to consciously start to influence our collective subconscious with what we actually want reflected in our shared reality. When we remember the sheer power we have, our natural human tendency will be to use it for things that benefit us and hopefully for the common good.
Secondly, we must understand the role our conscious and subconscious minds play in affecting the quantum field that is our reality. In really simple terms, our subconscious minds (which we believe are plugged into the quantum field that creates our reality) take instruction from our conscious minds.
“Your subconscious mind is subjective. It does not think or reason independently; it merely obeys the commands it receives from your conscious mind. Just as your conscious mind can be thought of as the gardener, planting seeds, your subconscious mind can be thought of as the garden, or fertile soil, in which the seeds germinate and grow.
Your subconscious mind is an unquestioning servant that works day and night to make your behavior fit a pattern consistent with your emotionalized thoughts, hopes, and desires. Your subconscious mind grows either flowers or weeds in the garden of your life, whichever you plant by the mental equivalents you create.” ~ Brian Tracy
What this means is that, in order to reclaim our true power and consciously direct our reality, each of us must look to what images/messages/feelings our own conscious minds are sending our subconscious minds and actively try to ensure that these are loving, accepting, compassionate and healing (e.g. what we actually want reality to reflect) rather than hateful, rejecting, divisive, accusatory and punishing.
How can we change the messages we are sending our subconscious minds?
These are a few of the techniques we feel are effective:
Meditation with Visualisation: This practice is like a journey deeper into consciousness and helps us to get into a state which is similar to dreaming. Normally, when we are in a non-meditative state our brain waves are functioning in *beta* wave patterns but this changes to *alpha* when we meditate.
To get into a deeply meditative state, we recommend using relaxing music (you can find free alpha brain wave music on YouTube) and focusing on your breath, specifically deep breathing which relaxes the body. Once our brains reach alpha, we have a direct line into our subconscious and can observe what is sitting there as well as communicate new messages to it.
Many of us will have blocks/limiting beliefs of some type sitting in our subconscious minds which are stopping us from experiencing the reality we want, so the goal is to recognise what these are and then replace these with new messages which reflect what we actually wish to experience.
In order to communicate messages to the subconscious in this alpha state we use repetitive visual images, combined with presence in that moment as if it is happening NOW. The images you visualise can be quite general in nature, for example an image of yourself looking and feeling totally happy, contented and fulfilled, radiating with joy, filled with love. Now imagine how you are feeling in that moment as if it is the present, absorb all the details around you, the light, the colours, your surroundings, people nearby or with you etc.
Being present in the visualisations as if they are real and happening right now is really important because the language of our subconscious minds is visual not verbal (pictures not words) and the subconscious does not differentiate between imagination and reality.
Practiced regularly, we believe these techniques change the visual imprints that are held in our subconscious minds which in turn changes what is communicated to the quantum field.
All each of us can do is work on our own subconscious minds, but if every single one of us on the planet did this, imagine how quickly our reality would transform to reflect the love, acceptance and compassion instead of the hate, rejection and division we see now?
